Back in March 2019, Zane did some custom work for me by taking my Tele/ Paul parts guitar I had and put it together as a finished guitar, as well as re-finished the body (see picture above). It turned out wonderful and is now part of my guitar collection. Also, he made me a custom pick-guard identical to the one I originally designed and made that was on my “Lost Gibson Melody Maker- lost in the late 60’s” which I eventually got back in late 2018. He installed the new custom pick-guard on my other Gibson Melody Maker of the same vintage year so that I now have two that are identical. His work on both projects was excellent and I would not hesitate to have him do further work for me. By the way, the guitar I am holding is one of his custom Tele’s that is really nice and very well made.

Whatever idea you have, Zane can build it. I wanted a bass with a Fodera yin yang style body with a Fender Jazz neck. PRESTO!!! He builds exactly what I wanted. I had a pale cheap looking bass and Zane gave it a makeover and now it’s my #1 instrument. His guitars are not only enjoyable to play they are also hand crafted works of art. Zane combines the eye of craftsman and the ears of a musician. His attention to detail and love of what he does shine through each one of his creations. His instruments are beautiful to behold, a joy to play and each one as unique as the player fortunate enough to have one. I highly recommend checking him out. I am thrilled with the basses he has built for me.

The Stampeders

In the past few years we have had two of our vintage guitars restored and completely refinished by Zane O’Brien of Legend Custom Guitars. We were very pleased with the results and must say that his finish work is exceptionally good. We would definitely use his services again. We were very happy to have met Zane through our mutual friend, Bob Young and were very pleased with the two Legend Guitars he supplied for our Halifax Casino show in February 2014 and how well they played and sounded.

Paul Mason

I depend upon Zane to keep my guitars in top playing condition and have never been disappointed. And a 1920s Regal octofone that was unplayable, now has it’s voice heard in my studio, thanks to his careful expertise. I appreciate his low-key proficiency (and he ain’t bad in the high keys, either!) and very reasonable fees.
