5 String Bass Conversion

Originally, this was a 4 string Jazz bass body. The body was converted to accept a 5 string fretless neck. The neck pocket had to be enlarged to accept the wider 5 string neck. Also the profile of the body at the neck joint had to be modified to accept the already shaped neck. The new neck had to sit further back into the neck pocket in order to maintain correct scale length. Therefore a portion of the body around the neck pocket had to be removed. Note profile of body around neck pocket on back of guitar. Some refinishing work was also required.
