Epiphone Les Paul (broken headstock)
Before
After
This is an example of a repair to a broken headstock which is fairly common on Epiphone guitars. Re-gluing the headstock properly is very important and must be done right on the first attempt or it could be messed up forever and un-repairable. Gluing and properly clamping the break are extremely important and often specially made wood cauls are required as well as pins to initiate strong clamping pressure while glue sets. In order to hide the glue joint break line, I air brush the break area with a color dark enough to hide the break and then refinish the area. Often the front of the headstock has to be repaired and refinished as well.
